I taught Silky

It was damp today.
Mummy took me and Silky out together but we didn’t go to the park because it would be too muddy for us, although I don’t mind at all being in the muddy place.
Anyway, when I looked outside this morning, I thought that it wouldn’t be a good day to go out so I decided to give Silky some lessons.  I know she has been learning many basic rules and things, but I think she should know about us, Shelties, too.
シルキーにシェルティについてウィキペディアを使って説明中のCOCO
I turned on my laptop and googled “Sheltie”.  Let me see...what the hell!! There is too much information about Shelties and I don’t know which one is the best to look at, so I showed Silky “Wikipedia”. I read it out loud for her but it was a very big page and I was getting tired and Silky was getting bored.  Daddy, can you print it out for Silky please? No hurry, though.

And then, I showed her the picture of a Shelie in the book “Concise guide to Dog breeds”.  I think the Sheltie in the book is quite handsome but Silky said she would prefer a tri-colour boy.  Well, everyone to their own taste, don’t you think daddy?

Next, I showed a training book.  This is more for mummy and daddy but knowing what she is expected to do is good isn’t it?  Silky is a clever girl so if mummy and daddy teach her properly she will learn things quickly. It is up to you, daddy.

Finally, I opened my world map on the floor and told Silky where our ancestors came from.  Silky just said “Woof...”.  Well, on the map it is very near isn't it?  How long does it take from here exactly?
Daddy, why don’t you take me and Silky to Shetland Islands this weekend?

My scarf collection

Mummy met daddys friend Mr B and he lent this Japanese navy hat to have a look at.  Hat...it was tempting.  I knew I shouldn’t have because it wasn’t mine, but it is a hat.  Anyway, trying it on a bit is OK isn’t it?  Woof...I’ve never worn anything like this. How do I look, daddy?

After trying on this navy hat I felt like doing more dressing-up thing.  You know, I really enjoyed dressing myself up yesterday.

Today, though, I decided to try my scarf collections, not woolly fluffy ones but flowery colourful ones.  We have been having this damp and wet weather so I need a bit of a Springy feeling.

First one is  a pretty yellow scarf and I just tied it around my neck.

The second one is a long chiffon scarf with a dotty pattern.  I feel as if I was Grace Kelly in a beautiful scarf.

Next one is also a chiffon, pretty pink and flowery scarf and I tied around my neck like a big butterfly. I also put the butterfly on my head.

And then, this is  a beautiful blue scarf with sunflower patterns which you can feel the scent of summer meadow.

Phew....I overdid it a bit didn’t I?  I hadn’t dressed up too long so I couldn’t stop myself.

I had a bit of 'ME' time./ ちょっとだけ“自分のための時間”を持ちました

Mummy said that she would take me and Silky out separately today so I could have a bit of time on my own.  Having a bit of “me time”, hmmm...it sounds nice doesn’t it?

Mummy took Silky to the high street.  She said that Silky had looked a bit anxious of cars, buses, screaming children, the beeping noise of the traffic lights and so on. I couldn’t believe this because when I am with her she looks confident, and in the house she is wild!  She jumped on the kitchen counter and scattered daddy’s cereals didn’t she?  And also she jumped on the sofa and put her leg in mummy’s mug didn’t she?  Also she jumped on the kitchen counter and ate my food didn’t she?  Anyway she is a still little puppy girl so it will take time to get use to all those loud noises.  Was I like that, daddy?  I mean, was I wild like Silky?

After Silky’s walkies mummy took me to the park and look what I was like after that!!  Mummy doesn’t like me doing this but I love walking through muddy paddles. When it is big one I feel “WOOF!”

I couldn’t decide what to do at first because I hadn’t had my own time for a while.  Updating my Facebook, blogging, meditating, watching the telly, working out...what? what? what? what do I want to do?

Oh yes, why don’t I dress myself up?  I haven’t done this for a while.
I’ve got two new hats recently.  One is very soft and fluffy handmade hat which has pretty pompom on the top.  The other is vivid pink and purple woolly hat which is perfect for walkies on the cold winter days.

The “cupcake” top and the “Chick t-shirt” are my favourite.  I normally wear these when I work out.  After the feast at Christmas time I put on a bit of weight so I should start some exercise.  Daddy, why don’t we try aerobics?  I could ask Mrs Poppy about it if you like.

An interview with Silky

Silky has been here for 4 weeks today so I decided to interview her, and then as her big sister I might find out if there are any problems to solve or a few things to sort out for Silky.
今日でCOCOの家に来てまる4週間のSilky
堂々とした歩きっぷり
Coco: Well Silky, you’ve been here for a month today haven’t you?  Have you settled in?
Silky: I think I’ve been doing OK.  At first I was a bit lonely but now I have you to play with, mummy to talk and daddy to lick.
Coco: What do you think is the difficult things to learn as a puppy?
Silky: It was easy to learn where to sleep, eat and play, but sometimes I am confused about the toilet thing.
Coco: Why is that?
Silky: Well, mummy wants me to do pee and poo outside now and she is very good at finding out if I want to go or not. Daddy is fairly good too.
When I cannot go outside I use my pee-pee pad and there is always some newspaper.  I was taught to do pee and poo on the newspaper when I was a very little puppy girl. The confusing thing is that today after my late afternoon nap-nap mummy asked me if I wanted to go to toilet.  I was thinking because I was just awake so really didn’t know if I wanted to or not.  Then I walked around the living room a bit and I spotted a newspaper on the carpet.  I wandered towards it and I heard mummy say “You shouldn’t put your paper on the....” to daddy.  It was the moment I squatted on the paper and did my business.  Mummy and daddy weren’t happy about me having done pee on there but  daddy should not have left todays newspaper on the floor should he.  They didn’t tell me off but I felt guilty.
Coco: Well, I was watching that incident and it was daddy’s fault wasn’t it?  So don’t worry about it.
Coco: I heard you had been to the puppy class today.  How was it?
Silky: It was OK. There were 4 puppies including me.  They were playing together and I should have joined them but I was a bit shy.
Coco: I can understand that.  I was like that too.  But I became more confident by the time the course ended so you will be fine. Was there anything else?
Silky: In the car I puked twice and it was hard.
Coco: I can understand that too.  When I was a little puppy girl I had the same problem.  It will go in time so then again you shouldn’t worry about it too much even though it isn’t nice. I think daddy drives a bit too fast round those roundabouts on purpose you know.
Coco: You’ve been to the park and run off the lead.  Do you like it?
Silky: Yeah!! That is great!! I like running around with you, Coco.  When some big doggies chased me I was terrified, though.
ルンルンルン、ランランラン ♪♪♪
Coco: I know...to be honest I am not in the good position to advice about it. Mummy will take you and me before lunch time and there are normally small doggies and they are all nice and friendly. So you can start from there.
Coco: So, over all, do you think you are happy here with us? Is there anything you want to ask us to change?
Silky: Yes, I am quite happy here.  You are good sister but if it is possible can you stop being jealous?  When you are, you are very scary.  Daddy is soft and gentle but I want more attention from him. Mummy is OK, but she is too scary when she tells me off.  I am still a little puppy girl so I want her to be a little bit more gentle to me.

Nanny and Granddaddy came to see us.

プリティガール シルキー

Mummy and daddy said that my beloved nanny Joan and granddaddy Mick were coming to see me and Silky today. I love them very much so I was over the moon when I heard it. Especially after that horrible weather we had, you know.

We went to the park together and as a big sister I introduced my little sister Silky to a few of my doggie friends.  I have to admit that Silky has much better socias skills than I do.  I am a bit shy side, you see...but I am extremely good with people if you ask me.

A while later daddy let Silky off the lead and she enjoyed it a lot and I enjoyed it too.  We ran together and It was much more fun running around in the big field than in the house.  Mummy was worried about Silky being off the lead at first but Silky was very good and walked with us very nicely and confidently.  On the way to the car park a lady spotted Silky and asked daddy if she could hold her.  Silky was comfortable and looked friendly enough in stranger’s arm.  I was very proud of her.

After this walkies we had a great nap-nap.  Silky was sleeping on nanny Joan’s lap.  I didn’t feel jealous at all because I know nanny Joan loves me very much.  Silky will love her too once she knows how gentle and comfortable the way she talks to us...or maybe Silky might have fallen in love with her already because she had been sleeping on nanny’s lap for more than one hour.

Silky thinks she is a cat

シルキーは自分を猫と思っている?

Mummy was going to take me and Silky to the park today and I was looking forward to it.  But it has been raining so we have to stay in today.  How boring.

外は雨 散歩に行けないからシルキーと遊ぼ

Still it is not too bad because I have Silky to play with.  When I was mummy and daddy’s only doggie I didn’t have anyone to play with so mummy had to play with me, and of course I liked it a lot.  However, since Silky came here I have been enjoying playing with her very much because when I play fight with Silky we can understand each others tactics.  Also we can play violently, wildly and seriously. We roll over, jump over each other, tackle and bite. Silky even dives on me from the sofa.  We use all sorts of skills, and every day our skills are improving.  How exciting is that!!

綱引きだーい!

Sometimes I still want to play with mummy, so I bring a toy to mummy.  But every time I get something for mummy Silky tries to get it.  The small pink octopus, the Christmassy handbag, the snowman, the snoopy, you name it.  Whatever I get Silky always tries to get it from me. Once I went in the crate and she barked at me to tell “Get out of MY crate!”.  I always allow her to sleep in my top dog bed.  It is not fair is it?

When I decided to have a rest after the play-fighting Silky was still lively and wanted to play.  Mummy threw her favourite pink octopus for her, and then mummy and I were a bit surprised.  She moved like a cat.  I had noticed her catlike attitude before when I was play-fighting with her, but this was interesting.  Mummy threw the pink octopus and Silky watched it and then...jumped at it.  Mummy repeated it and Silky did the same again. Daddy mentioned about this the other day but mummy and I really didn’t believe him.   What daddy said was true. Don’t you think she could improve this skill and catch squirrels in the park,  daddy?

Silky came walkies.

Mummy took a photo of us on the 1st of January.  She wanted to do it just because it was the first day of the year.  I know we didn’t go out much because daddy has got man’s flu, but still she could have tried harder couldn’t she?  I look like a miniature sheltie don’t I?  You should have taken our “The first photo in 2011”, daddy.

Yes, our daddy has got man’s flu again!! But still daddy took us to the park by car and Silky met some of my friends.  She was a bit shy but confident and friendly enough, and I really enjoyed introducing my little sister to everyone and walking with her. I even showed her my “squirrel chasing skill” too.

Silky 初めてのお散歩でCOCOのお友達に会いました

Mummy has been trying to make Silky pee and poo outside and she did well a few times, although she still needs newspaper on the ground.  This reminded me that I had always needed white square pee-pee pad to do my toilet.  When I was a very little puppy girl, I couldn’t do toilet on the pavement because there wasn’t any pee-pee pad.  But once I knew where to do it was nothing difficult.
As Silky’s big sister, I should teach her our daily basics shouldn’t I?  I demonstrated how to pee and poo on the pavement and mummy told Silky to watch and learn, though Silky was distracted by other things, such as cars, birds and people.

I thought Silky must have been tired,  but as soon as we got home and finished our lunch-lunch she wanted to play-fight with me.  My little sister challenged me...how could I reject her?   Our play-fighting has been wilder and more intense day by day and this one was quite good one.  After a while we felt exhausted and called it a day.  I chose the crate to sleep.  I like it there because I always feel nostalgia for my puppy girl time, and Silky chose my bed which is soft and fluffy.  I think she feels like a grown-up doggie when she sleeps in there.

I know mummy and daddy want me to sleep with Silky but I don’t feel comfortable enough about it yet.  I don’t mind Silky sitting on me, poking her nose into my ears and sniffing all over my head in the car, but sleeping together is a bit different matter to me.
