Puppyhood.

I am going to write about a bit of my puppyhood today.
When I lived with my breeder mummy there were 4 puppies, my brother, sister, another boy and me.  We looked all similar, but I was the smallest one and only I had a full white collar round my neck.
One afternoon (19th Aug) one couple visited us.  At first, I couldn’t see them because we were all in the kitchen.  Then breeder mummy opened the door and we ran into the living room!! Breeder mummy picked up my sister and another boy, saying “This one and this one were taken.”  and the lady visitor picked  up my brother who was closest her.  Suddenly, I was on my own on the floor and I couldn’t stop shaking.  The lady visitor looked at me and said “Are you OK?”. Well, I wasn’t.  And then, the gentleman visitor picked me up, put me on his lap and massaged my head.

His massage was very soothing and I started feeling relaxed.  Still, it took more than 10 minutes for me to stop shaking, though.
The couple decided to have me, and they are my beloved mummy and daddy.  Mummy was very happy because when they saw our photo before the visit, mummy fell in love with me at first sight and she wished she could have me.

This is the photo.  Guess which one is me?
As I mentioned, I was the smallest one and I wasn’t a big eater.  When mummy fed me I didn’t want to eat and always left most of food in the bowl.  Mummy tried various methods but I didn’t want to eat that much.  And also I had a bit unique habit.  I picked a few food up and took somewhere else and ate them. So it took woofly long time for me to finish one meal.

Mummy and daddy wondered why I was doing it but it was just my habit which started at the breeder’s and it lasted until I was 18 months old... or more?
I enjoyed playing with a piece of food too.  Mummy told me not to play with food but eat them.  But then again, I wasn’t interested in eating that much and I was very picky when I was a little puppy girl.  Oh but don’t get me wrong.  I love food now.

I love mummy and daddy, so I often helped mummy’s housework in return, such as ironing, mopping, cleaning the mirror and so on.  For daddy, I used to tidy daddy’s socks and clean daddy’s face every night.  I still clean daddy’s face but now it isn’t only his face but ears and neck too.  My skill has been really improving so I am sure daddy is very happy.   They normally don’t say anything special but I’m sure they appreciate what I do for them.

Am I right, daddy?

  1. Coco, Silky's birth parents are on display at the Knight website but who are your kin? They must be very handsome to have produced such a cultured and lovely young lady. Do you ever have occasion to visit your birth brother and sister or are your hands full with Silky?

  8. Hi Coco. I was the last one in my litter and I was sad that no one wanted me. But when my daddies showed up and claimed me as theirs, I was so happy. I know they would have picked me first. We are so fortunate to have loving homes where we can spoil our families!
