This weekend we did a lot of modelling for daddy, or should I say daddy did a lot of photo taking?

On Saturday, we went to Painshill Park.

I have been there a few times before with mummy and daddy and I quite like it there because it is fairly quiet and there are a few interesting buildings and bridges, and also there are many birds. Somehow lots of them were fighting yesterday. One swan was even seeking a fight!! Spring isn’t it?

We posed for daddy here and there and everywhere. Every time we did a good modelling mummy gave us sweeties and we loved it.

However, there was a bit of problem. I had been modelling for quite a long time now so I didn’t mind posing for a while, but Silky is only a little puppy girl so she was a bit down after a few poses. I can understand how she feels. Even though you think you did a great job it is not always perfect for daddy. There there, Silky, don’t worry. You have been doing very well for a 25 weeks old puppy girl.

On Sunday, we went to Windsor Great Park. We walked  in a different area so I enjoyed it very much. We even chased squirrels and bunnies!!

There was a deer park and we walked through there too, although we didn't see any deer today. We climbed a bit of a rock and did somemodelling for daddy. Can you see the castle behind us?

 It is that Windsor castle where Silky and I might be invited by the queen one day. If she invited us and if we make friends with her Corgis, we might come to this park with them!! Wooof!! That is exciting! What can we do here with her Corgis? Surly we wouldn’t do chasing would we? I don’t think they can run that quickly. Anyway I would have to take daddy with us to take Royal photo's of Silky, me the Corgis and the Queen!!

Silky and I walked, ran and posed a lot, so we are very tired now. We will have dindins now and will have an early night. Zzzz....

Another lovely day

In the park someone said school had broken up today and some yesterday, but it was very quiet in the park. The weather was wonderful again so we had extremely enjoyable walkies. We had a bit of snack snack and a chat on the bench too.

Then we found Mr Rose and Daisy who were talking with Harry and his mummy so we went towards them to say hello. Harry is 13 years old but looked good and well groomed. He has nice hair cut doesn’t he? He is much, much and much bigger than I am as you can see in the photo. When I saw the photo at home I was surprised because he was much bigger than he looked in the park. I look like miniature don’t I!!! But mummy and Silky murmured that it was perspective. Well...I knew it didn’t I?

When mummy, Harry’s mummy and Mr Rose were chatting I got bored so I made myself at home. Then, Trixie the German Spitz came. Trixie always comes to me whenever she sees me although I snap at her every time. I have snapped at her many times but still she likes me, so gradually I am liking her too and yet I cannot stop snapping at her. Trixie said hello to me, sat down next to me and relaxed herself, though her other 5 family members were walking off and had gone. She always goes and anywhere and with anyone she likes. She stayed with me for a while, said hello to mummy and left.

 Mummy’s friend sent an e-mail and she attached the link for a Japanese music video which was for the Japanese earthquake. The singer is a group called “SMAP”. I don’t know SMAP but mummy said she was not fan of SMAP at all, they are not mummy’s cup of tea. But when mummy was watching the video she was crying because she was moved by the photos and messages in the video.

Mummy showed me the video too, and it was really touching. Japanese are wonderful and strong people aren’t they? Everyone, please PRAY FOR JAPAN!!

Silky's Pansies.

今日もスッカーンと晴れた青空だーい！

The weather is brilliant again isn’t it!! We went to the park as usual and had a quite enjoyable walk. We met Henry who is a greyhound cross, huge and fluffy. I had been scared of him before because someone told mummy that he had been quite aggressive. However Henry is very gentle and quiet so Silky and I like him.

Later Silky said we had seen the duck lover couple but well... I was drinking the water so didn’t know they were there.

いつもの川で鴨ちゃんカップルに会って家路に・・・

After the walkies Silky and I planted some pansies in a flower basket. The basket used to be very pretty but recently I didn’t like it because every time I planted pretty flowers they died after a few weeks. I put plant food and watered them properly but they never grew well. Silky and I thought about the reason and we guessed that the small tree and the Ivy in the basket could have been too much. They could have taken all nutrition from the small pretty flowers, don’t you think daddy?



さて、今日の午後はシルキーの好物（？）パンジーを植えましょう
（シルキーは叱っても叱っても、私のパンジーを食べまくったんです）



Should we pull out both of them? Or one of them? Then which one??? Silky and I decided to pull out the Ivy because mummy said that she had seen a basket with pansies and small tree in the middle.

COCO「シルキー、パンジーは花で食べ物じゃないねんで・・・」

Well...we hope this time these pansies will grow healthily and beautifully. There were afew left so we planted them in a small pot too. Silky had been examining the pansies all the time. What does she want to know??? When mummy tried to take a photo of the pansies and us, she asked me quietly when she could eat them”.

Silky, they are not for eating but for looking at. Somehow Silky loves Pansies, not for looking at but for eating. Mummy and daddy stopped her from eating mummy’s pansies in the front garden but every time she passed in front of them she quickly grazed them like a cow. Are they tasty? Silky says it is best to eat them raw. Hmmm...I think I need some dressing at least.

Anyway this time, some are in the hanging basket and the others are on the windowsill so Silky cannot reach them.

Cooking with Coco - Baking a loaf.

This morning I decided to bake a basic white loaf. Mummy has a few recipes but I decided to use BBC GOOD FOOD recipe. Let me see...

皆さんこんにちは！！今日は基本の食パンを焼きますよ

What??? I guess this recipe is too plain so I will add a few ingredients and of course my secret ingredient too, but this time I will grind them to mix with the flour well.

I mixed everything in a big bowl and now I have to knead it. Hmmm...it needs a bit of courage to shove your paws in there doesn’t it? My paws will be very messy, but I have to don’t I?

I had kneaded for 10 to 15 minutes and my paws became very messy, and also I was tired. Now this dough has to rest for an hour, so why don’t I have a bit of rest too?

Silky was curious so I told her not to touch it but she could watch it rising.

シルキー　一次発酵の見張り番　どんどん膨らむ膨らむ

Woof!! Look at this big dough!! I can hear the voice of yeast whispering “I am ready”. I punched it, put in the loaf tin and let is rest for another 30 minutes.

Now it is ready to go to the oven. I am getting nervous...will it rise perfectly?

Ta-da!! The loaf is done and looks good doesn’t it? I don’t like kneading bit very much, but the baking bit is quite exciting. In the oven it rises boooom!! like that!! Can I become a baker daddy?

Then Silky can be a shop manager, mummy can be a shop assistant and daddy, you can be the shop accountant, shop delivery man, shop advertising man and all that. What a lovely family business!!

After the baking we went to the park. The weather was wonderful and it was very warm. Silky got tired and wanted to sleep there and I didn’t want to leave the park either, however mummy told us to move. She is cruel isn’t she? If we want to succeed in this family business we need more kindness towards each other and good teamwork, don’t you think daddy?

Silky loves the park gate

Have you ever seen Silky’s affection towards the park gate? Every time she comes near the gate she tries to run for it and once she gets there she screams very loudly and then barks intently while mummy opens and closes the gate. I was surprised at first but well...it is the same as me barking at any strings which you can pull, I suppose. Even the word “String” makes me excited.

In the park we saw an English Setter running around so mummy put the lead on me. You know, if she had come to me I might have snapped at her mightn’t I?

The dog came to us but the target was not me but Silky. The English setter was too big for Silky so Silky ran about this way and that to get rid of her, but she wanted to play and didn’t give up easily. The owner called her “RUBY!!!!” but she didn’t listen at all. The owner got irritated, angry, shouted, and chased Ruby without any luck. She should have used a treat or something shouldn’t she?

Ruby was around us, jumping to play so we couldn’t go forward. We had been standing like that for a few minutes and then the owner said “THAT’S IT!!!” She shoved her hand in her pocket and what appeared was an umbrella!! Oh my woof!! She is going to hit Ruby!! Only she couldn’t reach her at all.

Another lively dog came which was Daisy the poodle. Daisy and Ruby started to play together so we could walk off and mummy took the lead off me. After a while I saw the owner grabbing Ruby’s collar so somehow she managed to catch her. Poor Ruby, I hope she wasn’t smacked with the umbrella.

In the smaller park I saw my friends the duck lover couple. I have seen them everyday recently. When mummy was trying to take a photo of Silky and me, the lady duck asked us if she could join us. We welcomed her and took a photo together. It was shame that her boyfriend was too shy to join us. Can you print one for me, daddy? Then I can give it to her.

Down by the river.

今日は公園内は静かで特に変わったこともなく

We left home at about 12 pm and came back a bit after 2 pm.  Long walk isn’t it?  On our way back I got thirsty so I drank a bit of water from the river.  Mummy and I thought Silky might go in the river but she was only examining the water.  You can watch a short video,  in which Silky was looking in the river but her hind legs were firmly on the ground.

All three of us were starving but mummy took us to the garden to get the washing and took a few photos of Silky and me...Again!!  Silky and I were so hungry that we stuck out our tongue in turn.

By the way daddy, at the entrance of the park a man who was working along the road asked mummy what breed we were.  Mummy said “Shetland sheep dog” but he didn’t know.  Why don't many English people know Shelties?  Strange, innit?

お腹空いたー

Miracle cure

The weather has been very pleasant this weekend.  My eyes and tummy are better now so daddy took us to my favourite Windsor park by car on Saturday.

Silky gets sick in the car so mummy doesn’t feed her before the drive and she also tried “Anxiety relief drops", but still she dribbles a lot.  Even for a 5 minutes drive she starts dribbling.  However, we found a splendid miracle cure which is “squeezy cheese”!!

Silky didn’t want to go near daddy’s car so mummy showed her the squeezy cheese.  Silky loves it so she followed the cheese, but she knew the car  was ahead of her so she stopped, but she wanted cheese so she moved forward...she repeated this and got in the car. Mummy and daddy thought this cheese might distract her so let her lick the rim of the tube during the journey.

Surprise, surprise!!  The tube was almost empty so Silky could hardly eat any of it but she kept licking the rim like a baby’s dummy and she didn't throw up or didn’t dribble at all!

いつでもどこでも、

We got to Windsor park and Silky and I did a lot of modelling for daddy.  I felt very elegant when I sat in the middle  of or in front of beautiful flowers, but daddy, why do you always tell us to sit on the tree stumps anywhere and anytime when you see them?  It is OK, I don’t mind doing it.  Just wondered...

On Sunday we went to our usual park by car.  Again Silky licked her squeezy cheese dummy so she didn’t dribble at all, completely dry!!  Hooray!!

日曜日は公園で走って、吠えて、リスを追いかけて

We ran a lot, barked loudly and chased squirrels together.  Silky is very sociable with doggies so every time she saw other doggies she went up to them and said hello.  Hmmm...I cannot do that, daddy, but I can do that with people in a very polite and entertaining way.



目とお腹の調子も回復してヤレヤレ



Silky is 24 weeks old today.  She is a mummy’s girl at the moment but in a few months time she will be a daddy’s girl too won’t she?

シルキー２４週　今はマミーっこ。そのうちダディの方が良くなっちゃうんよね・・・。

She is still a little puppy girl so she can sit on mummy’s lap in the car, although it use to be my special seat and in a few months time I will get it back.  However, as a big sister I shouldn’t do such a cruel thing to Silky should I?  What should I do???  Can Silky and I both sit on mummy’s lap?  Or can I sit on your lap, daddy?  Or the passenger seat?  I will be your navigator.

In the park we saw a small Jack Russell coming towards us.  I snapped at him a couple of weeks ago so mummy put the lead on me.  When we came closer the owner said “We are safe today!!”.  I am not vicious or boisterous, you know.  Strange thing is that I was on the lead so I did not snap at him but he came to me and the owner let him.  Mummy said that he shouldn’t but he kept coming because his owner didn’t stop him.  Why???  Mummy pulled me so he couldn’t come to me anymore, and then he jumped at mummy with his muddy paws.  I thought it was naughty thing to do so I made my scary face.

I felt quite chirpy today and enjoyed my walkies in the park.  We met Mr Rose and Daisy so I politely said hello to him as usual, while Silky and Daisy were sniffing each other.  I was a bit slow following everyone and I heard mummy saying “She can be a bit awkward but I think she is VERY pretty”.  Mr Rose agreed with mummy saying “Yes, Coco is a very posh and pretty girl but the problem is she knows she is pretty”.  Ah...He knows me doesn’t he.  Mummy laughed and told me to be modest, when someone says I am pretty I shouldn’t say “Yes, I know!!” but “No, I am not that pretty but thank you.”

We went to the garden after walkies.  Mummy’s tulips are blooming one after another.  New Lilie shoots are growing, new Agapanthus shoots are growing, Roses are growing and Carnations too!!  In the front garden the Azaleas are getting a lot of pretty pink buds.  Everyone is growing!!

I feel pretty today and also got a sense of spring coming so I decided to do some dressing up for spring.  The one is a pretty daffodil colour top accessorized with a white cap, and the other one (at the top of the page) is a tiny flower pattern dress with a blue cap.

Silky was patiently waiting while I was posing for mummy.  When I finished Silky jumped on the sofa so mummy put the white cap on her.  She makes you smile doesn’t she?
