We went to Shepperton Lock today.

今日はシェパトンロックに。
川や運河にあるロックについてはまた後日詳しくということで・・・

Daddy took us to Shepperton Lock today. I quite like it there because I can get on the boat to get to the other side of the river Thames.



車でテムズ川のシェパトン側に行き、そこからボードで反対側のウェイブリッジに渡りました。




ボートは１５分毎に行き来。一人往復３ポンド。
ボートで岸から岸はほんの数分。でもとっても気持ち良いので
COCOをはじめマミーもダディも大好き。シルキーは初体験。どう思ったかな？



I had got on this boat before but it was first time for Silky. It was only a few minutes boat trip but it is very relaxing being on the water. Can we get a big boat like the one with black doggie, daddy?



ダディ、COCOもこんな白いボートほしいわぁ。ワンちゃんが乗ってるやん。
このボートは個人の方のですが、朝９時から夕方５時までで
１２０ポンド程で借りられるボートもあります。



The other side of the river is Weybridge. We walked along the river and today we explored a new area, the island in the river. We found a shallow part of the river and mummy threw a twig and I jumped in to get it.

今日はウェイブリッジ側の新たな場所を散策。
テムズ川沿いに歩いていると浅い部分があったのでマミーが小枝をポーン！
拾いに行ったCOCOは突然深みに深みにはまってアワワ～って感じで
岸にやっとこさ上がってきました。ごめんねー、COCO（マミー）。

Woof!! I could see the bottom when I jumped in but it suddenly got deep so my legs didn’t touch the ground in the water. Mummy was surprised and I was desperate to get back on the shore. Phew.....

Now mummy was laughing and daddy quietly said “She can swim”. I wanted a bit more sympathy.

We carried on walking and then got on the boat again to come back to the Shepperton side. There is a small outside cafe which opens in spring and summer time. We sat there and had a lovely cream tea before coming home.

ボートでシェパトン側に戻り、いつものアウトドアカフェで
クリームティー（紅茶とスコーンのセット）を頂きました。
このカフェはイースターから秋頃まで営業します。

It is very cosy sitting there watching the boats and birds and feeling the cooling breeze. I often see doggies there and today there were two Chihuahuas. I think you can see how comfortable it was there from the expression on his face.



木陰で川沿い。そよ風がソヨソヨで気持ち良くって、
マミーもダディーもCOCOもここが大好き。シルキーも気に入ったかな？
見てください、この２匹のチワワちゃんの表情。気持ちええわぁ～って感じでしょ？



There is a pretty cottage where the lock keeper lives just next to the outside cafe. Daddy, can I live there if you become the lock keeper? Then I can have a nice cream tea everyday can’t I?

カフェ横にはロックを操作する人が住むコテッジが。正面から見るとスッゴイ可愛いです。
なのに、なぜ横からの写真なのか？

Woof? I can cook for the cafe, and then the cafe will be called “Cafe Coco ”, and Silky and mummy can work as the staff while daddy is operating the locks, can’t they?



溺れかけて濡れた毛も乾き、たくさん歩いてCOCOもシルクもお疲れさん。
この後、家で２匹は爆睡でした。
ダディ、明日も休みよ！どこに連れてってくれるんかしら？ワクワクワク…。



I am very sleepy now. Daddy is wondering why I am tired like this. It is the shock daddy!! I was about to drown!!

THE wedding

I got up very early this morning. I dressed myself up, got on the train and went to London to see the Queen. I wanted to wait for the Queen by the gate of the palace so I could ask her for my ticket to the wedding but the guards didn’t allow me to get inside of the rope. Anyway I thought the Queen would notice me through the car window so I waited for the moment.

朝になっても招待状が届かない。
こうなったら計画通りバッキンガムパレスでエリザベス女王を待ち伏せよ。

At 10. 40 am the Queen left the palace so I waved my paws and tail and shouted "YOU HAVE FORGOT MY TICKET, YOU PROMISED ME" but she didn’t notice me. I waved and barked frantically but she didn’t look at me and then the car was gone........

What should I do? I don’t have the invitation so I cannot get in the abbey can I? Or the reception. Should I wait for them to come back and see them on the famous balcony? Anyway I decided to have my photo taken outside the palace for a momento fo the occasion.

でも女王様は気付かず素通りされました。

Nah!!! I decided to go home because there were too many people and I was middle of the crowd  and nobody could notice me because I am so small and people were treading on me, everyone was so tall I couldn't see anything. I didn’t like being there any longer.

I came home and you know what!!! The invitation for THE wedding was on the table. I was too shocked to speak. I just stared at the invitation. Then daddy came up to me and said that the invitation had arrived after I left home. Daddy said that the postie had said it was on the bottom of his postie bag and he missed it. I hate him!! I have always liked the postie since I was a little puppy girl but NO!! I don’t want to see him every again!!!

式に出れず、披露宴にも出れず、人混みの中で踏みつけられそうになりながら帰宅した
傷心のCOCOが見つけたものは・・・招待状！！！

Mummy and daddy soothed me and said they had recorded THE wedding for me. I took the dress and hat off and sat down in front of the telly to watch THE wedding.

郵便屋さんのカバンの底にあってやて！！
もう二度とあの郵便屋さんには会いたくない・・・。

きれいやなぁ～。

Daddy, I really really wanted to be there singing all those songs with everyone, David Beckham & Elton John got their invitations in time, why not me.... Now, I will have a bit of nap nap because I was too excited to sleep last night.

I'm still waiting for THE wedding invitation.

Mummy took us out around lunch time but I didn’t want to leave the house today because I might have got the invitation for the royal wedding. It had to be today didn’t it?



ロイヤル・ウェディングは明日なのに、まだCOCOに招待状が届かない。
「マミー、郵便屋さんが後ろの方にいるよ。散歩中にウチに来るかもしれないから帰ろうよー。」



I saw the postie coming behind us so I told mummy but mummy didn’t listen to me. The invitation must have been recorded delivery so I had to be at home. She doesn’t understand how important this is to me.

公園ではそれなりに楽しく。でも以前マミーに怒鳴ったオバちゃんが怖かった。
何で怒鳴られたかって？　COCOがそのオバちゃんのブルテリアにキーってしたから。

In the park I fairly enjoyed myself. The weather was OK and it was quiet. But when we arrived at the gate Silky barked at the gate very loudly and I barked at Silky to stop her barking. It was quite a racket. Unfortunately, the woman with a bullterrier who had shouted at mummy once was inside of the gate. The reason she shouted at mummy was that I snapped at her bullterrier. Since then every time the woman sees us we do something naughty, and today we were barking very loudly and mummy was struggling to shut the gate because Silky was tackling the gate. The woman came and mummy said “Hello” but was ignored. Mummy couldn’t hold the gate anymore so let it go saying “I’m sorry” but was ignored. What the woman did was shook her head in very disapproving way with a very red face.

招待状がまだ来ない。Facebookのお友達もCOCOが出席すると思ってるから
COCOは焦ってますが、シルキーは呆れ顔。
COCO「もうちょっとポジティブになられへんの？」
シルキー「でも招待状もらってないんだったら・・・」

Anyway, this afternoon I have been very busy because I haven’t got my invitation so I had to find out how to see the Queen. According to today’s paper the Queen will leave the palace 10.40 am so if I wait for her at the gate and explain about the delay of the invitation she would say I can come with her wouldn’t she?

COCO「エリザベス女王は10時40分にバッキンガムパレスを出発ね・・・」

I am very serious about this royal wedding thingy but Silky is very cool. Why? She says she will watch the wedding on telly but it is not the same is it!!

ね、シルキー。これがルートやねん。
エリザベス女王が出発する時に待っといて、招待状の遅れを説明したら
一緒に車に乗っけてってくれるんちゃう？

Woof? Where is Silky, mummy? It seems she is sleeping on the Silky area upstairs. Well, she is my little sister and little sisters are like that aren’t they?

もうCOCOの相手はしてられませんのでお昼寝します。

Now, I will go out for the evening walkies and then I will have to try my hat on for tomorrow.

Cooking with Coco - Pizza

 

今日のお散歩は早めに切り上げ。なぜならば・・・

 

We went to the park as usual but came home a little bit earlier because I decided to make pizza for daddy today.

 

 

こんにちは、みなさん！
今日はホームメイドピザを作りますよ。

 

 

This is my daddy’s recipe for 1 big pizza base;

200 g strong flour

2 g dried yeast

pinch of salt

1 teaspoonful sugar

half tablespoonful oil

80-90 ml lukewarm water

 

 

Mix the flour, yeast, salt and sugar in the bowl, pour the oil and water and knead until it becomes smooth. You don’t have to leave the dough to rise if you like a thin crust like my daddy does.

Put the dough on a floured surface and roll out the dough into a large round shape using a rolling pin.

 

ベースの材料をマゼマゼしてコネコネして、大きな丸型にのばします。
「ダディ、薄さはこんなもんでいい？」（ダディは薄いパリパリ生地が好きです）

 

 

The dough needs to be very thin as it will rise in the oven.

 

 

At the same time I make my special tomato sauce.

 

同時にCOCOのスペシャルトマトソース　ドッグフード入りを作り、
お好みのトッピングをのせましょう。

 

 

Today, I am going to use 2 big tomatoes instead of tinned ones and also mushrooms, chopped onion and crushed garlic. When the sauce started simmering I added a bit of tomato ketchup, mayonnaise and sprinkled a pinch of dried Italian herbs, and now it is time to add my secret ingredients, a few pieces of doggie food. (you can leave this out if you don't have any).

 

ダディが好きなチーズもたっぷりのせて、サンドライトマトやバジルペストも。
「ダディ、チーズはこれで十分？」（ダディはチーズが大好きです）

 

 

On the round base I carefully put the my special tomato sauce evenly and then put your favourite toppings. How does it look? Daddy likes cheese so I put lots of cheese. Do you want more cheese, daddy? I also sprinkled sundried tomatoes and pesto too. They give it a very yummy flavour.

 

220度のオーブンで10分ほど焼きましょう
COCOは焦がさないように見張り番中です。

 

 

Now, heat the oven to 220 C and bake your pizza for about 10 minutes. I am guarding my pizza so it does not get cremated.

 

みてみて！チーズとミートとドギーフードの香りを感じてもらえますでしょうか？

 

 

Woof!! Can you smell it? It is cheesy, meaty, and doggy foodie isn’t it? I hope daddy will like Pizza with my special sauce. Bonappetito!!

 

さあ、召し上がれ！
と思ったところで、マミーがサラダがほしいと。

 

 

What? Mummy says that she doesn’t need that much garlic bread but wants a bit of green salad. Some people are awkward aren’t they?

 

サラダは草木が好きなシルキーが担当。冷蔵庫から色々探し出したけど
肝心のものが見当たらない。「マミー、パンジーある？」
シルキーはパンジーが好物。でもマミーは食べたくないと思うよ、シルキー。

 

 

I asked Silky to rustle up something for mummy because Silky loves salady things. She found some green leaf, a tomato, a cucumber and red cabbage in the fridge. That would be enough wouldn’t it?

However, Silky wants to use Pansies for the salad. She likes pansies doesn’t she? Dear, dear...I don’t think mummy wants pansies in her salad, Silky.

ご飯をくれるのも、お散歩も、ほとんどマミーがしてくれるけど、
ウチら陽気な“ダディーズ　ガール”



Silky loves chasing pigeons and squirrels, and she is always seeking them when we are walking. Every time she sees them she aims at them, lowers her body and when the time is right for her she runs for them. It is as though she was a cheetah chasing her prey, though she never gets them. Woof? If she gets them what would she do? I would take them home and keep them as a pet.



シルキーはハトやリスを追いかける時、かなりマジになります。
「出て来い！！」



In the squirrel area there are many trees so her prey normally escapes in the trees. She jumps and tries to climb the trees, and also she barks. Silky, we cannot climb trees so it is impossible...

「降りて来んかーい！！」
木に飛びついたりジャンプしたり、吠えるわ騒ぐわ、諦めません。

I used to do the same thing, you know, barking at them to get them down. When mummy told me I couldn’t get them when they were in the trees I didn’t understand and kept barking at them. But now, seeing what Silky is doing, well...she is still a little puppy girl so she will learn soon.

パピーガールの頃を思い出すわ。私もそうだった・・・
シルキー、私らは木登り出来へんから捕まえるのは無理やねんで。

Silky blames me saying that I am too loud and woofly noisy so they run away quickly as if it is my fault. I am not that loud am I, daddy?

いやいや、COCOがうるさく吠えるからリスやハトが素早く逃げちゃうのよね、シルキー。

If we could climb trees it would be fun wouldn’t it? Hmmm...woof? I’ve watched a doggie climbing a tree on a telly before. Why don’t we try, Silky?

そういえば、木登りしてる犬をテレビで見たことあるよ。
シルキー、練習せーへん？まずは小さな切り株から。

 Look!! We look like two sheltie birds on the tree don’t we?

After daddy took this photo, Silky easily jumped off the tree. On the other hand I had to wait for mummy to rescue me. Maybe we shouldn’t learn how to climb trees.

写真を撮った後、シルキーは簡単にジャンプして木から飛び降りたけど、
COCOは「マミー、降ろして・・・」
木登りの練習は無しということで。

Happy Easter.

It is Easter holiday now and we’ve been enjoying the glorious weather.

イースターホリデーもずっと良い天気。
金曜日は大好きなウィンザーパークに行って３時間歩き、

On Friday, we went to our favourite Windsor Great Park by car. We walked towards the Copper Horse and then decided to walk in a direction which we’d never been. We walked for a while, and then daddy found a sign for “The village shop”. Daddy wanted to get an ice cream so we headed in that direction but never found the village shop. Strange isn’t it?

日曜日にはリッチモンドパークに行って、また３時間歩き、

We decided to walk towards where we started from and then I found a tall tree trunk to pose on for daddy. I thought it might be a bit scary to sit there, but woof!! I felt  a very confortable breeze and looking down at everyone was cool! I liked it.

高くて怖いか？と思ったけど、高いところって気持ち良いわ～

When we came near the car park area we saw a huge sprinkler. It was very hot so I decided to refresh myself. Some people were getting wet and they were screaming. What a big deal? It is just a sprinkler. However, when it came closer somehow Silky left me. Why?

暑い中を歩いていたら巨大スプリンクラーが！

COCO姫、ちょっと涼みましょうか？

Then I knew the reason. It was not a small sprinkler was it? I got soaking wet but I liked it, and I couldn’t stop smiling.

On Sunday, we went to Richmond park. Silky gets car sickness so we didn’t have breakie. Why me too? I was starving in the car. However, Silky and I had a picnic when we got there and it was fun having food outside. We ate and drank water and then all four of us started walking.



When we walked a bit I found a huge tree trunk lying on the ground so we posed for daddy, and also in a big hole in a bit tree trunk. Daddy was very happy about my modelling skill and also my ability of finding good places to pose.

We had walked for about 3 hours and it was hot. I was enjoying myself but Silky was very active and she sometimes tackled me. Why does she do such a thing? It seemed that She liked there very much and she was chasing birds and squirrels whenever she saw them. She aimed at the birds and ran!! Also when mummy whispered “Silky, go!” she ran!! She even tried to climb a tree to get a squirrel!!

シルキーは暑くてもスッゴイ元気で鳥やリスを追い掛け回し、
時にはマミーの「シルキーGO！」の掛け声でダッシュ！
疲れ知らずのパピーです。

On our way home we were knackered and fell asleep.
